Using the CompanyIQ^® executive compensation database, we examine executive pay, including a breakdown of equity and CEO pay ratios, in the biopharma industry.

Specifically, we analyzed a CompanyIQ^® dataset for fiscal year 2021 that included all Value Reporting Foundation (VRF, formerly Sustainability Accounting Standards Board—SASB) designated companies in the Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals industry within the Health Care sector plus a selection of publicly reporting biotech and pharmaceutical companies.

This included: 431 companies in compensation year 2019, 509 in 2020, and 461 in 2021. The complete list of 509 companies is available on request.
