This is the fifth year that U.S. publicly traded companies have to disclose median employee pay.

With data from the CompanyIQ® database, this report identifies the 25 highest and lowest median employee pay companies in the S&P 500. The dataset is based on the 451 companies that have reported compensation data for the 2021 compensation year as of 6.2.22.

 

Key findings include:

•$74,470 = median pay for a median employee

•6% = 2021 increase from the 2020 median pay for a median employee

•$296,000 = the top pay for a median employee, which was at Alphabet

•16 companies paid their typical worker over $200,000

•3 companies paid their median employee less than $10,000

•Another 10 paid compensation for their median worker of less than $15,000.
