The top 20 equity grants in the S&P 500 to named executive officers (NEOs) in 2020 averaged $76 million and had a median of $54 million according to our CompanyIQ® analysis of proxy filings. Half of these equity grants were for tech executives, and not all of them were for the CEO. The top equity grant went to Paycom (NYSE: PAYC) CEO Chad Richison who received $209 million in stock awards.
