A Profile of Compensation Consultants in the R3000
Russell 3000 companies retained 86 external compensation consultants to assist them with setting compensation for their named executive officers (NEOs) for the 2020 AGM (annual general meeting) year. Using our CompanyIQ® research platform, we found the following:
- Nearly 90% of R3000 companies use an external compensation consultant.
- FW Cook was the top compensation consultant across the R3000 index.
- Pearl Meyer and Meridian Compensation gained the most clients between 2019 and 2020.
- 31 companies retained a second compensation consultant.
- FW Cook had the greatest number of clients in three of eight sectors.
