CEOs in the S&P 500 earned nearly $8.5 billion in total comp in 2023 — a year in which executive comp spiked compared to 2022. Some of the highest-paid CEOs work at high-profile companies where one might expect eye-popping pay, while others on the list may come as a surprise.
…Semiconductor manufacturing company Broadcom Inc. CEO Hock Tan topped the list of highest-paid CEOs at companies that filed 2023 proxy statements by July 29. Tan raked in $161.8 million in total compensation in 2023, according to information from by public company intelligence provider MyLogIQ, which found that $160.5 million of that came in the form of stock awards.
